she’s gone

I hadn’t yet accepted it fully. It was only superficial. Standing in the mob singing along somber and sober. I raised my hand to bid her farewell. Then it happened; tears rushed to my eyes like they weren’t mine. I dabbed them out but they kept coming. ‘This is final’, I realized and walked away to the back of the crowd to fold my arms across my chest.
